Bespoke Creation

Project Overview:

Niels van Roij Design is approached by unique people for unique cars. From maintaining and restoring vehicles to making new precise and high-quality components. We can build new moulds, and make sure we fabricate what it is yoy wish: a rear carbon clamshell or a bespoke hand beaten body.

Fabrication Process Examples:

1. Tooling:
   • Simple 2D or 3D forms can be cost-effectively created using cut and folded, tack welded disposable stainless steel tooling. This method is ideal for parts such as dashboards, instrument housings, boxes, and turning vanes.
2. Material and Moulds:
   • A clamshell can be fabricated using a carefully controlled epoxy wetlay process, carbon fiber or other materials. To ensure rigidity in the flat sections, a foam core or other component can be incorporated.
   • Mould and component can then be vacuum bagged and left to cure over a period.
   • We can work with our own suppliers for moulds and can create moulds from GRP, Pre-Preg Carbon Tooling Cloth, or various high-temperature epoxy pastes.
3. Finishing:
   • Once cured, the part will be broken out, trimmed, sanded, and primed.
   • The final product is then installed on your car.
