To correct a potential error immediately: Urus is not the first SUV from Lamborghini. From 1986 to 1993 the Italians built the LM002. This was an SUV (pickup) with 5.2 liter and 450 hp V12 from the Countach. The figure 2 implies there were previous Lamborghini offroaders. That’s right. As early as the seventies! Lamborghini built the Cheetah in 1977. And the LM001, for military purposes. Both the Cheetah and the LM001 had an American V8 in the back. Which caused a bad handling. The Urus is not more than a spiritual successor. Because now the handling is much better. The Lamborghini Urus flies. It goes like a fire-breathing dragon. The Urus makes it clear that the Lamborghini core business is still building sports cars. The Urus is an ideal platform for us to make it uniquely yours. We can up the power of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The unit delivers 650 hp (at 6000 rpm) now. We can make that almost 800 hp. Despite a considerable weight of almost 2200 kg, the Urus has the best horsepower weight ratio of all SUVs (3.38 kg / hp). To call the Urus fast is therefore an understatement. From zero to one hundred can be done in 3.6 seconds. And from 0 to 200 km / h in 12.8 seconds. The top speed is 305 km / h, extremely fast for any car. Let alone a SUV.
