Breadvan Hommage bespoke build
Niels van Roij Design has revealed its latest creation, the Breadvan Hommage, a contemporary take on the iconic 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan. Like other projects from this London-based design studio, the Breadvan Hommage is a bespoke build, crafted specifically for a single, affluent client.
A Nod to History with Modern Mechanics
Based on the Ferrari 550 Maranello, the Breadvan Hommage retains the original 5.5-litre V12 engine and six-speed manual transmission. The sole mechanical upgrade is the addition of adjustable Koni shock absorbers, the same brand used in the 1962 original.
Bespoke Exterior Design
Visually, the Breadvan Hommage is almost entirely custom-made. Apart from the 550’s windscreen, every body panel has been hand-crafted from aluminum. The car features a Kammback design, aimed at reducing drag, a distinctive element from the original Breadvan. Other subtle design cues include the translucent dome, deep bonnet intakes, and circular rear lights.
