Based in the Netherlands, Niels van Roij Design is an impressive player in the coachbuilding industry. While Bugatti claims its Divo is “reviving coachbuilding,” Niels van Roij’s work is more akin to the classic craftsmanship of Italian design masters like Zagato, Pininfarina, and Bertone before their financial troubles led them to license their names for cars built in England and shift focus to selling luxury vehicles through new ventures. The art of hand-hammering large aluminum sheets is central here, a skill only the most adept continue to practice.

Range Rover Adventum Coupé: A Unique Luxury SUV Conversion

One of Niels van Roij Design’s flagship project is the Range Rover Adventum Coupés—a two-door, 525-hp, supercharged V-8 luxury SUV that Land Rover decided not to produce after teasing the 2018 Range Rover SV Coupé Concept. Transforming a four-door into a coupé while maintaining proper proportions is challenging, but Niels van Roij, a seasoned designer based in the Netherlands, has already demonstrated his prowess with a Tesla Model S Shooting Brake. The studio also worked on an Italian-based Breadvan Hommage paying homage to the iconic 196 car by Piero Drogo to compete with the Ferrari 250 GTOs.
